This extraordinary pendant is shaped as the Chakana — the stepped Andean cross, one of the most sacred symbols of the Inca world — and filled with a vibrant checkerboard mosaic of natural stone and shell. Each square tile is individually inlaid by hand in Peru using techniques passed down through generations, creating a rich tapestry of warm reds, deep purples, teal greens, iridescent abalone, and golden cream. A round sodalite cabochon anchors the center, and an orange spiny oyster shell accent adorns the bail. Shaped from solid sterling silver 950, this is a statement piece unlike anything else.
